DescriptionHarrow Hill is an elegantly furnished, English country home; a guesthouse providing bed and breakfast facilities, in a quiet, luxurious and peaceful haven. Harrow Hill is a fully operational farm, and the guesthouse is surrounded by green pastures where cows graze quietly under shady trees.The guesthouse has large air-conditioned bedrooms with full bathrooms, two guest sitting rooms, interesting books and antiques. Visitors are treated as friends. Harrow Hill is situated in the Karkloof Hills close to waterfalls, Midmar Dam, nature reserves, Midlands Meander, Canopy Tours, golf and good restaurants. The guest house comprises 4 double bedrooms with either a queen bed or twin singles. Each room has a full bathroom and separate large shower. There are hair dryers, air-conditioners, fans and heaters provided in the rooms. A laundry service is available. There is ample parking for caravans if you wnat to stop over on the way to the coast or the berg. I now run a small herd of Friesland heifers just for fun on my 50 acre farm. There is an old farm house on an old settler site. All in all it's very quiet and tranquil , the quietness always surprises people from Joburg. It is very colonial with old english family antique furniture, lots of silver on the breakfast table - it confuses people with toast racks, sugar sifters and bowls of salt!! Often have had salt in the coffee and sugar on the bacon. We have a large lovely spring and summer garden full of azaleas, clivias,day lillies inca lillies and then later hydrangeas and cannas at the bottom of the garden. Guests love seeing the cows poking their heads through to eat the flowers. DirectionsFrom Durban: From the N3, take the Hilton Interchange, turn left at the top of the ramp. Travel approximately 10 minutes, pass the old Hilton shopping strip, the new Quarry Centre shopping centre (1st robot), and the Crossways Pub (2nd robot). After crossing the 2nd robot, turn right at Summit Street (100m). Turn left at Mallory Street (another 100m). Travel 0.5km pass a double story house with green roofing and the driveway for #20 is just pass them into a panhandle. |
