Champagne Valley
Central Drakensberg, KwaZulu-Natal
There is much controversy about the name of the valley, it is listed as
the Champagne
Valley, but there is a sign that says, "Welcome to Cathkin
Park" closer to the mountains, whichever the powers-that-be decide, it is a
very busy valley with much for the tourist.
The Champagne valley is named after Champagne Castle peak which is the
highest Peak in this part, although when you are in the Champagne Valey,
cathkin peak looks as though it is higher!
The Champagne Valley is the most commercialized valley in the Drakensberg
and is host to many activities, arts and craft outlest, restaurants and
accommodation venues.
