Fly fishing - an art enjoey by many in the MidlandsFishing in the Midlands is very rewarding! No, not all catches are fantastic, but it is the environs in which you fish that make it such a fantastic fishing destination. Fly fishing for brown and rainbow trout is most popular in this part of the country, however there has recently been keen interest in the yellowfish by anglers. Midmar Dam also hosts many angling competitions in which huge bass have recorded.

There are many venues that offer fishing from dams on the property, most often there is rod fee and bag limit, though we are finding more and more fishermen are opting for a catch-and-release form of the sport?!

Fishing can sometime be a little tricky especially if you haven't tested the waters, we recommend that you contact The Flyfishing & Birding shop in Nottingham Road

Fishing in the Drakensberg is most honoured in the Kamberg.  Excellent fly-fishing is offerred at the various venues.  The Kamberg trout festival is an example of the importance of this skilled sport.

The Southern Drakensberg, Central Drakensberg and Northern Drakensberg also offers both dams and rivers to fish from.

Whilst anglers are engrossed in catching that fish, there are other activities available to those not so interested...
