Set on top of the hill overlooking Balgowan Valley, Indigo Fields Country House enjoys one of the most spectacular views in the Natal Midlands. The Guest house is privately appointed with three separate suites, each leading onto a spacious central garden courtyard with a pool and large covered patio area. The décor in each suite hints at the essential oils industry at work on the farm, with rosemary, lavender or geranium being carried throughout, right down to the organic bath and body products for you to enjoy.

Each suite has its own entrance into a comfortable lounge and a cosy bedroom upstairs in the thatch loft. A full en-suite bathroom with a large shower looks onto a private garden with the vista of luscious green meadows beyond. Each suite is equipped with a TV, tea and coffee making facilities as well as a well-stocked bar fridge. A larger guest lounge with sandstone fireplace and DSTV (for the sport lover) is a haven for those who wish to enjoy an evening by the fire.

Indigo Fields has a beautiful double storey thatch gallery which houses a fine selection of work from leading South African and Midlands Meander artists and a dedicated section for the local vibrant ceramics of Ardmore.

Attached to the gallery is a coffee shop with a wooden deck overlooking the valley - A superb place to relax with a steaming cappuccino whilst enjoying a light meal. A cup of coffee on the deck under the trees will reward the observant guest with a sighting of the endangered Dwarf Drakensberg Chameleon.

For the nature lover a stroll around the farm may lead to sightings of the Crowned Crane, Reed Buck, Porcupine, Black-Backed Jackal. Being centrally located in the Midlands, most activities are right on our doorstep and can be easily arranged whether it is for a round of golf, horse riding, mountain biking, trout fishing or hiking in the berg.

Of course, there is always the Midland's Meander whose route will guide you through the most beautiful countryside and expose the exceptional talent of the artists and crafters who choose to live here.
