Cyclists will find Griffins Hill - located between Estcourt and Mooi River a challenge as it is a long steep hill that used to make motor cars back in the early 20th century boil/overheat to a stop! Now the R103 links a number of art and craft outlets, restaurants and accommodation establishments in the Midlands. It is known as the alternative route in that it winds up and around through the countryside and does not have speeding traffic and toll gates like its N3 counterpart! Bikers in particular will enjoy the R103, it is tarred road all the way. The R103 becomes a destination between Hilton and Mooi River, with various places to visit and overnight branching off it. |
